Yes Virginia – There is a Santa Claus!

Welcoming a new visitor!

Dad and Fran came down from Virginia earlier this spring for their first visit to our farmhouse.

They both loved it! I try to be modest but most people do love it.  We have had people stop by just to say they love the house.  One person even stopped their car in the street an took a few pictures.

Anyway, we love it!

Still evicting the previous inhabitants!

We knew there would a be a few “pests” that wouldn’t want to move out but this is getting old. That’s right, we have mice in the house! The count of mice trapped is now at 5. Lynn and I are examining some new options they include:

  • Getting a cat!
  • Getting a flute and hoping they will follow us out of the house.
  • Bring back the snake we found when we 1st bought the place.

Several of you folks have been asking where are the new pictures? And how’s it going? Sorry for the delay. I’ve been so busy with work, remodeling the new-old house, and selling our current home. I’ve update some new pictures on each of the pages The Den, The Front, and The Roof
Just watch the slide show.

Our GC keeps saying we are on track for 7/15 but I think it more like August 1 (sorry Lynn). More to come!

Cabinets, Fixtures, and Granite – Oh My!

I don’t know about Lynn, but I’m a little overwhelmed by all the choices that we have to make. Lynn and I met with the Scott Query, our GC, then spent the better part of the morning looking at granite counter tops. Boy, there are a lot of choices. We bounced around a bit but I think we have 2 of the 3 granite styles chose. We’ll sleep on the 3rd one and may even go out again this weekend. Once we finalize the choices, I’ll post them.

Next up, finalizing the cabinets and selecting bronze fixtures that match the 1901 farm house style.

New Website Design!
